This blanket keeps heat in, but if you shake it for a few seconds, the whole blanket cools off. It is amazing and highly recommended for people in hot weather conditions. However, it must be on top of you with one side exposed to air as laying on it would trap heat. It is not recommended at the beach as it is much softer and thinner than a towel or beach blanket. The Khaki color is tan/peach like in appearance but more tan.
