Answer: UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) is a rating system used for clothing and indicates how much of the sun's UV radiation can penetrate through the fabric to reach the skin. A higher UPF rating means greater protection. -

Answer: No wire, but the hat brim is a composite - the top surface seems to be the same sturdy nylon mesh which is used for the breeze-through section of the crown. -

Does this hat have an exact 4 inch brim?
Answer: Yes, it has a full 4 inch, 10.25 cm brim all the way around the perimeter. -

What does an earth color look like?
Answer: It is a medium shade of brown. -

How do you clean this hat?
Answer: Spot clean only. Depends on what the problem is. We use a product called 'Goop' to remove bad stains then spot rinse with water. Otherwise, soapy water or Woolite might work. -

Is the brim solid or is it an open weave?
Answer: The roof and brim are solid. Only the walls are open weave for ventilation. -

What are the total width and length of an XL size hat?
Answer: Hat size: 7 1/2 - 7 3/4. Head measurement: 23 7/8. -

Will the hat stretch out?
Answer: I don't think so. Oddly enough I measured and needed a medium, but the medium is a bit snug. I haven't been able to stretch it out at all. -
Question:
What color is the underneath side of the brim?
Answer: Same color as the top of the head and trim around where the hat and brim meet. My hat is khaki, and the trim and under brim are a darker color of beige.
