Action & Adventure Editorial Review

Escape Plan: The Extractors is an action-packed movie with lots of fighting, shooting, and death. The movie follows a dark revenge narrative with some fresh faces and advanced martial arts on display. Sylvester Stallone does a workmanlike job and is not a terrible actor, and Zhang Jin and Harry Shum Jr. both display some admirable athleticism. The martial arts choreography for their parts is not terrible, except for the dramatic Hong Kong pauses. However, the movie lacks unpredictability and engagement, making it cliched and uninteresting.
