Eventide Preamps MixingLink Editorial Review
The reviews for this preamp are generally positive, with many users praising its ability to enhance the sound of various instruments, particularly guitars and microphones. Customers appreciated the boost it provided and its compatibility with devices like the H9. The preamp was noted for improving the sound quality of different guitars, including a Moog guitar with a weak signal. Users found the classical guitar sound to be warm and sweet, although some mentioned the need to adjust the low end to eliminate hum. The preamp's ability to retain the original sound while applying effects was also highlighted. However, a few users encountered challenges such as difficulty inserting a battery, the need to unscrew the back panel, and issues with phantom power not working without a battery. Additionally, there were comments about the preamp picking up room noise when the volume is increased, necessitating the adjustment of low frequencies. Overall, this preamp seems to be a versatile and effective tool for enhancing the sound of instruments like guitars and microphones, offering a variety of effects and boosting capabilities. However, users should be prepared to address potential issues with battery installation and noise pickup when using microphones at higher volumes. **
