The Purple Bed Frame in Charcoal for Cal King size is a solid and supportive foundation for any mattress. It has slats that are 3" apart and can hold up to 2,000 pounds. Customers have used this with non-purple mattresses and as a foundation without the headboard. The foundation is 17" tall from the floor with 7.75" of clearance underneath and should accommodate various mattress thicknesses. Some customers found the assembly of the bed frame difficult and unpleasant, while others found it easy and quick. However, all agreed that the bed frame works well with the Purple mattress, and it provides solid back support. One customer even reported that their back pain disappeared after sleeping on the Purple mattress atop the frame.
