  • Domanda: How long is the Avid upgrade plan valid for?

    Risposta: The Avid upgrade plan is valid for one year. It can be renewed annually to stay current.
  • Domanda: What laptop on a budget would work well with this?

    Risposta: None, Protools requires an actual processor. Cheap laptops won't run it very well at all. i7 recommended maybe an i5. Or a mac that can hit at least 3.7ghz or you're not gonna have a fun time.
  • Domanda: Can I buy the academic version of Pro Tools 12 bundled with an interface (mbox pro)?

    Risposta: The mbox pro was discontinued by Avid a while back. Fortunately, you can now use any audio interface with Pro Tools 12. We would be happy to recommend some options that are similar to the mbox pro - just give us a call at 1-800-510-438.

    Risposta: This is the academic version for sale to College Students, and Teachers and Staff members at K12 Schools, Community Colleges and Universities. K12 students are not eligible to order this item.

    Risposta: While a number of customers have installed and used Pro Tools 12 with apparent success on Windows 10, Avid has not announced compatibility and support for Pro Tools 12 on Windows 10 as yet.   • Domanda: I am a current student, once activated, is the license good for life? Or only as long as I am a student?

    Risposta: Yes, this is a permanent license and is good for life. However, the free support and upgrades is only for one year. Before the end of the year, you may want to contact Kelly's Music & Computers to renew your support and upgrades so that you continue to receive free upgrades. If you do not, you will be able to continue to use the software, but you will not be able to upgrade. (According to Avid's current policies, you would have to purchase a new license if you wish to upgrade and allow your contract to lapse.)
  • Domanda: Does this come with an ilok? Is this 'Avid Pro Tools 12 for education with upgrade' the same as mentioned on avid.com as a perpetual license?

    Risposta: Yes, it includes an iLok and is a perpetual license. You will receive one year of free support and upgrades. You can continue to use the software after the first year, but to continue to receive support and upgrades, you will need to purchase a renewal, at a lower price.

    Risposta: You must be a current teacher - full or part time - at a K12 School, Community College or University to qualify. You will need to submit proof of current status to Avid in order to receive your software activation codes. Unfortunately, retired teachers will not qualify.

    Risposta: Yes.
