Comedy Editorial Review
The BBC's Northanger Abbey received mixed reviews, with many criticizing its anachronisms and changes of detail, as well as its poor acting, music and editing. Some found it tedious to watch and suffered from poor visual elements that distracted from the plot. However, some fans of Jane Austen appreciated the film's attempt at spoofing gothic sensibilities and noted its historical context of being made in the early period of Regency-themed movies and programmes.
