    Rispondere: This set is ideal for intricate texturing and fine surface decoration on small-scale turnings.

    Rispondere: Yes, the set includes one fine spiraling cutter and one medium spiraling cutter.
  • domanda: What other tools are compatible with the handle?

    Rispondere: The handle accepts all other Sorby Micro attachments.
  • domanda: I noticed this tool came with 2 cutters, is there different cutters you can buy for it or is the 2 all you need?

    Rispondere: 2 is all you need, one creates spirals and the straight tooth creates textures. There's a couple of videos on line demoing the tool. A fun and quite easy tool to use.
  • domanda: Use with pen making? Or do I need the larger one?

    Rispondere: You don’t need the larger one. I use the smaller one on pens, bowls, cups and almost anywhere when I want to add texture.
  • domanda: Does this kit contain the handle? I was looking at the same tool somewhere else and the handle was extra?

    Rispondere: Handles normally don’t come with them. The Mucro handle fits a number of tools and can be purchased separately to accommodate the tool you purchase.
  • domanda: Can you cut on acrylic with this tool?

    Rispondere: I would have to say no. The speed to cut acrylic is way beyond what this tool is intended for. Just my two cents worth.
  • domanda: Where do I go for replacement parts?

    Rispondere: I would think contacting Robert Sorby's Customer Service Dept. would answer that question better than I. Sorry! I've had my micro spiraling set for over 5 years and haven't had to replace any parts, including the cutters! I always 'oil' my cutter's bearing BEFORE using it and even during cutting spirals if I do more than one on a wooden piece. Hope this helps and enjoy this little spiraling set as it's a great addition to your turning tools!

The 37A Sorby Micro Spiral Tool Handled is a fun and easy-to-use tool that produces beautiful patterns on pendants, bowls, cups, and almost any wood piece you want to add texture to. It comes with two cutters, one for creating spirals and the straight tooth for creating textures. However, it requires some practice and mastery to get perfect first-time results. The tool can be used with a pen and other wood pieces. The kit doesn't come with a handle, but the Micro handle can be purchased separately to accommodate the tool you purchase. You may need to oil the cutter's bearing regularly when making multiple spirals on a wooden piece. Overall, the tool is functional and produces great results with some learning and practice.
