Deblob 2 - Playstation 3

Deblob 2 for the Nintendo Wii is an enjoyable and non-violent game that appeals to a wide range of ages. The graphics are impressive, and the storyline is engaging. However, there are a few changes from the first game that may disappoint fans. One positive change is that jumping is now controlled with a button instead of motion control, making it easier to navigate and defeat enemies. The game also provides clearer guidance on what the next step should be, avoiding confusion and the loss of time. A new feature in Deblob 2 is the ability to target Paint Bots with Z+A to jump on them, rather than rolling into them. This solves a previous issue of accidentally rolling on the wrong color. Unfortunately, there are also some drawbacks to Deblob 2. The removal of free paint, which was untimed paint in each course, is disappointing. Additionally, the time given to explore each world is limited, often requiring players to restart and rush to the end before time runs out. The motion control feature, which involved shaking the remote, also seems unnecessary and adds little purpose to the gameplay. Another downside is that certain checkpoints must be completed to progress, which can be frustrating for some players. The frequent tutorials and cut scenes, while well done, can become repetitive and should have an option to be skipped. Overall, Deblob 2 is a fun and engaging game that builds on the success of the first installment. It offers improved gameplay mechanics and a captivating storyline. However, it does have some differences that players familiar with the first game may notice and may not prefer.
